From the media and various talking heads I’ve heard again and again these tales akin to a literary boogieman that no one reads, and further more, that literacy in America is in a state of turmoil.
Having spent vast sums of money, countless hours of time and just about all the energy I could muster to achieve a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing, these claims had begun to haunt me. But today, Dave Eggers publishing institute McSweeney released a study that took a closer look at these claims.
